This is historic . For the very first time, this month’s series, Pope Culture: How To Have Authentic Joy, is an exploration of a Papal Letter: Pope Francis’ 2013 Apostolic Exhortation, Evangelii Gaudium, or The Joy of the Gospel.
Get ready to be shocked. Lolo Kiko’s letter will rock your world. It will shake you to your core. Evangelii Gaudium is very special because you know that this letter was not ghostwritten by a bunch of theologians and rubber stamped by the Pope. In every sentence, you feel the Pope’s heartbeat. this document is what his entire life stands for – and his life is revolutionary. This is the culture he wants the Church to have; and like all great leaders, he is the culture he wants us to have.
Talk one in our brand new “POPE CULTURE” series entitled “EVANGELII,” unveils to us the joy of the Gospel. The real joy. The authentic joy comes from Jesus. Are we really happy? Or we are faking our happiness? But sometimes, we have this experience when life is not easy. Life is not comfortable. Life is not convenient, and we’re going through so many stuff. But, deep down inside we’re happy. Why? Because of the joy of the Gospel. Keep your eyes on Jesus.
The second installment of our “POPE CULTURE” series entitled “ENCOUNTER,” revolves around telling us that the most important goodnews of all, the God who created and formed us, will come up to us and say, “You are worthy of love. I love you and I will never leave you.” Ask God to recreate and renew our heart to be able to follow and love Him even more.
The last installment of our “POPE CULTURE” series entitled “ENJOY,” told us that in the course of growing up, we’ve been taught to revere God and His presence. We step lightly, speak in hushed tones and keep our heads slightly bowed when we enter church. Today’s talk invites us to enjoy God’s presence, not only in sacred venues like church. God’s presence is everywhere, bringing us authentic joy and freedom.
Sometimes, when life feels overwhelming, and all you have are questions, you start feeling hopeless and a bit lost. But it’s during these times that someone praying for you can give you the hope you need to go on and face life’s challenges.
